Welcome family & friends!
The thought of losing someone close to me to cancer is something that haunts me. So many of those that mean the world to me, have lost loved ones and this has been weighing heavy on my heart for some time. Therefore, myself along with the support of my friend Beth, have decided to do something to help.
Several years ago, my mother lost her best friend to cancer. Ann meant the world to my mother and to this day I cannot help but think how much happier my mother would be to still have her friend near.
My husband lost his father in February of 2002 to cancer. The devestation isn't comparable to anything ever experienced. The heartache still continues today and Michael is missed so very much by his family.
I will run this race in honour of my father in-law Michael Gurrney and my mother's best friend Ann Dove. May others continue to live a life of hope due to cancer research.
Setting a goal I know I can reach is important to me. I know I can reach my goal of £125.00. In order to do so, I need your help! Be generous and know that your small amount can change lives. Cancer Research UK relies on the success of fundraising events such as Race for life to continue life-saving research into the prevention, treatment and cure of all forms of cancer.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! This is my very first 5K run and I am incredibly excited in making a difference - I appreciate any amount that you can give!
Many thanks for your support.
Lots of love,
