It is done! I Raced for Life today!
I ran (well, jogged) the entire 5k course in one go and it took me only 45:33mins! Thank you very very much, everyone, for your donations! You're fantastic! xx

The race is taking place tomorrow and I actually feel sufficiently prepared - I can do it! Went for my last jog before the event last night and did just over 5k in about 50 minutes (at a very slow pace)! I am only £4.48 short of doubling the target - who's the lucky person to fill that gap? :-)
07/07/2010:
Right, time for an update! Yesterday I decided to go for a jog in the evening. The weather was nice and warm, but not too hot. I had my gps on me and some time on my hands. After getting a bit frustrated about doing a lot of walking between rather short runs the other day (but still doing over 5km in about 45 mins) I decided to take up a recommendation: Run REALLY SLOWLY! So I did that, and behold, I ran 4.8 km (once round Sefton Park, which is the venue for the actual run) in c.37 minutes! Wahey, I can do it! I only stopped running for about 5 seconds within the first quarter - a yellow Labrador came towards me and begged for a pet :-)

I woke up this morning to find that donations have gone well beyond the target in less than one week! You are all wonderful, this is so cool!!! xxx

I am totally amazed by the amount of donations just a few days after announcing my run! Thank you very much everybody! :-)
Dear All,
As many of you are aware, my mum, Sabine Hodgkinson, passed away after a long battle with cancer in November 2009.
I want to dedicate this run to her, as she was the greatest person in my life! I miss her so much!
My aim is to help find a complete cure for this horrible disease and make an end to other peoples' suffering!
I am extremely grateful for everybody's donations! Thank you for your generosity!
