Thank you for visiting my Race for Life sponsorship page. I know everyone is probably a bit strapped for cash right now, but I hope you will sponsor me and help me raise money for Cancer Research UK.
I can't promise that I will be running the 5k at high speed. But I will be putting on my shiny, new trainers that have sat unloved and unworn on my shoe rack for over 4 years and at the very least I will do a fast walk. The type of walk that makes the firmest of bums look wobbly. I may even break into a jog. One thing's for sure, I'll do it and I'll finish it. Surely that's worth donating some money for?
On a serious note cancer affects one in three. You may know someone who has cancer, you may have lost someone you love to cancer, or you might be among one of the lucky ones who know's someone who has come out the other end and is now fully recovered. Whatever situation you find yourself in, I hope that you will dig deep and help me to reach my fundraising target., and then beat it. I can't think of a better cause, and I am participating on behalf of someone who I love very much - someone who I wish I could wave a magic wand for and make everything alright.
I also hope to be inspired by everyone who is taking part. I will be doing the race with a friend of mine, someone who is great at encouraging me when I want to give up. Someone who will drag me to the finish line if she has to! (Not that she will need to, I am going to make every effort to be in tip top condition).
