Hi Everyone
08/06/10 - Latest update
WOW!!! Thank you to all who have sponsored me, you have exceeded my expectations. Mum is doing well. After her first 12 week session of chemo they decided she wasn't strong enough for anymore. She has had a session of Radiotherapy which we are waiting on the results of. Mum can't talk now with more than a whisper which is hard on us all but waiting to see if there is anything they can do for her to make her more comfortable.
My parents have now finally been given housing and Mum has really perked up trying to make it their home, bless her. They are loving it.
Training for me stopped for a while but last week I got back in to it and the plan is for mum to be there so I can push her over the last few metres of the run in her wheelchair. When I think about it in training it makes me well up and push on for her!!! Its an amazing feeling.
Please find it in your hearts to sponsor me if you haven't already :) Thanks

I have now reached my target after only 2 days, many thanks to all that has sponsored me. I'm shocked at the support so far. I set it to £300 as its what my company will match up to but PLEASE KEEP THE SPONSORSHIP COMING, I'd love to reach £1000........
Before you read any further, even if you sponsor £1, it would help and let me know I have some support out there.
As some of you know, I took part in the 10k run last year. This year its even more significant to me as since then my own Mum has been diagnosed with inoperable lung and throat cancer. She's only 58. Chemotherapy seems to be keeping things at bay for the time being though. The heartbreak my Dad is going through contributed toward him suffering a massive heart attack at the end of Jan this year. The doctors are calling him a walking miracle after surviving such an attack. They are now looking after each other.
Cancer doesn't just affect the person diagnosed, it affects those closest to them aswell. My 10k run won't make my Mums cancer go away but my taking part could help some elses Mum (or Dad, Brother, Sister etc) in the future.
What ever I raise here the company I work for will match it so PLEASE sponsor me. They will match up to £300 but I do hope to raise a bit more.
