I'm struggling a bit to find sponsors at work because a team of us is taking part - so please help! As well as the element of competition involved, I'd like you to take a moment to think of what it must be like to lose a very important woman in your life through the cruelty of cancer.... all those children who have lost a mum too soon. The daughters whose mums won't be there to see them graduate, or see them get married and have families of their own. The sons who must go through the trials and traumas of school without their mums to offer them comfort. And the mums who have suffered the terrible loss of losing their daughters.

Of course, this Race is about trying to call a halt to cancer in all its forms - but I'm running for the girls.
