Over the past 10 years alone, thousands of lives have been saved through earlier detection and improved treatments. But, much work remains to be done if we are to achieve our aim of beating cancer.

My personal message:

Hi there!

After supporting the London marathon last week it gave me the inspiration to do something energetic for charity. It's a token effort of 5k but please dig deep and sponsor me online.

It's all safe and very easy to use. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

The "race" is on 5th June at 11am at Holyrood Park, Edinburgh.
