A Huge Thankyou to everyone who has sponsored me so far or bought raffle tickets I have been amazed at your generosity.

I would also like to thank my amazing husband Dave who's incredible support, understanding and love gives me so much strength and my family, Mum, Nanna, Trish, Annie and Colin you are incredible and I am so lucky to have you.

As you probably know I was diagnosed with cancer last year and have been fighting it ever since. I consider myself incredibly lucky to be as well as I currently am and this is largely down to the care and support received by everyone and the chemo and radiotherapy. It would not be possible for people in my situation to even hope for a future if there were not organisations like Cancer Research UK that keeping looking for new ways to cure. I have had a break from treatment for 6 months now, but will almost certainly be back on Chemo in the very near future as the cancer isn't behaving itself.

Entering this race is my slice of normality - it enables me to do something which isn't solely related to my cancer and give a little back. I won't be fit enough to run but will be able to walk the race having been in training with my dog Basil every morning for a few months now. He is very good, taking me for a long walk each day and often lets me throw balls for him to strengthen my arm muscles too!

I also enter for the following incredible people who sadly aren't with us anymore:

My Wonderful Dad Charles Surridge who we lost to Myloma in 1994. He was such a brave man, never complaining and always fighting as well as still being the best Dad ever. He had time for everyone and was loved by all who met him. I still miss him dreadfully.

Dave's Amazing Mum Pat Cull who lost her battle against Breast Cancer in 1984. As Dave and I started dating in 1988 I sadly never got to meet her, but know what a special and brave person she was through Dave.

The Joker Peter Banks who sadly lost his battle on 25th April 2007 after bravely fighting for some years. Throughout his fight he refused to give up and joked till the last.

Sheila Appleton Ken's Aunt who sadly lost her battle this year after bravely fighting.

Thank you for visiting my Race for Life fundraising page. If you haven't sponsored me yet and would like to there's still time but not long!!!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me - Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support now and over the past year - it is really appreciated and I wouldn't be where I am today without it.

Jackie xx
