We did it! Here I am (number 2544) with my neighbour Clare crossing the finish line after only 28 minutes - which means that Neil has kindly doubled his money as pledged as I met his challenge of completing it in under 30 minutes. (thanks Neil) It was a fantastic event with over 7000 people taking part on the day, 3500 in my race in the morning. It was sunny and hot and the atmosphere was amazing and quite emotional too - I shed a tear or two before the start during the minute silence as I thought of those I know that have battled against cancer and won and remembered those that are sadly missed too. Robert, Katie and Amy were there to cheer me on and Katie designed the sign I wore on my back for Mum and Uncle Gerald. We left this at the event on the display board alongside thousands of others with their heartfelt messages. Legs and lungs were both great on the day and Clare and I were still able to gossip as we ran around. I'll definately keep up the running and next year who knows I may be closer to the winners finish time of 16 minutes. A big THANK YOU to everyone for sponsoring me and your kind wishes of support and encouragement - together we have raised (as at 15 June) £456.03 including online sponsorships, paper sponsors and gift aid so you've all done a wonderful thing - thank you so much. If anyone wants to join me next year that would be great too. Lots of love to you and your families. Jacqui x
