Since writing the words below I have heard the sad news that my grandma has fallen pray of this horrible disease. This is no longer a charity fund raising run but personal. My employer, Alliance & Leicester, will match upto £250 so please give generously.

Mine is 9, no actually it's 10. It's not my weight (I wish!) or my age or cholesterol level but sadly it's the number of people I know who have been affected by or lost the battle with Cancer.
Statistically 1 in 3 people will be affected by Cancer.
Statistically more people are surviving Cancer than ever before.
Looking at all cancers combined the five-year relative survival rate has now reached 50%. The survival rate in women (56%) is higher than that in men (43%) and this is also the case for ten-year rates (39% vs.52%).
This is great news and we want that survival rate to increase, but more importantly we want to help cure Cancer
