Last year we raised just under £2,000 for Cancer Research and it would be great if we could do just as well or better this year, so please dig deep and sponsor us online.  Alternatively, ring or email one of us and we will add you to our list of offline sponsors.

There are 12 of us running this year, including Jelena Tosic, Jolene Marshall, Sarah Lowe, Carol Taylor, Adele Cook, Vicki Bridges, Linda Lewis, Annika Vasant, Chantel Lewis, Carly Dunnell, Karen Dunnell and myself.  We are doing two Race for Life events - Southend (Vicki) and the City of London (the rest of us).  The latter race is on 31 May 2009 in the City of London and any support or heckling that you can offer if you are in town that day will be appreciated.

What we would appreciate more however, would be a donation to this very worthwhile cause.  Some of us have benefitted first hand from the work that Cancer Research does and we all know people who have either triumphed in their battles against cancer or who we would like to run in memory of.  Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer and by sponsoring us now you could help more people survive cancer.

Serena is unlikely to be able to run this year, but Pudding has graciously accepted the invitation to act as team mascot and support vehicle (he may be pushing Serena around in his running buggy)!

19.05.09 Update

Mitchell Brewer, Collette Harding, Julie Gilderson, Sheila Tomkins, Carole Edmunds, Sharon Pryor, Georgia Aggrey, Stephen Gibbs, Claire Simpson and Alex Underwood have between them sponsored us £101.  Great stuff.  That's got us just over the £1,000 mark.  There's still time for more though....
