Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
As you know, I'm not exactly athletic. Er, well, not remotely actually. And a 5k run to me isn't exactly a fun way of spending a Sunday morning. But I'm not doing this just for the fun - I'm doing it for my Dad, Alan Middleton, who lost the fight against liver cancer on 14th March 2006. And so that I might just, in this small way, help other people not to have to go through what my Dad and my family have just been through.
I'm doing this with my sister Julia who, well, isn't exactly athletic either! So I would encourage you to give generously just for the pure entertainment value of two overweight redheads sweating their way 5k through Oldham on 18th June! The idea is that we will push and encourage each other, but believe me, the main purpose is to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
As a charity, Cancer Research UK rely overwhelmingly on the success of fundraising events such as Race for Life to continue life-saving research into the prevention, treatment and cure of all forms of cancer.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
