Holly and I are taking part in the Race for life for several reasons:

I lost my Mum, Mary Kivlin, to cancer on 1 February 2007 after she fought it for 2 years.  I was so in awe of her bravery, how well she coped with all the treatments they threw at her to try and rid her body of this awful disease, unfortunately no matter how much she fought she was taken away from us so early in her life.

We are taking part in this race to raise money for the charity who are working so hard to provide early detection, prevention and treatment of cancer, in the hope of one day finding a cure for this dreadful disease.

Everyone's lives are affected by cancer every day and we hope that raising money for this worthy cause will stop others going through what we have.

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work and by sponsoring us now you can help more people survive cancer.
