The picture which you can enjoy on the side of this page is of my friend Hannah and I on our way to take part in the race last year. We had a great time, didn't mind feeling stupid one bit and got some really nice reactions from the people running around us. People are much more willing to chat to you when you look daft as it really breaks barriers down, and we really enjoyed the improved interaction with our fellow runners!

Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you could help more people survive cancer. I'm only 28, and already I know too many people who have suffered and then ultimately lost their lives to cancer of one sort or another. Statistically, one in three of us will be affected by cancer at one point or another; imagine how many of the people you know that could encompass. I think that we should all contribute something to help fight these terrible, life-threatening diseases.
