Yes! I did it!
I was so proud to cross the finish line in just over 45 minutes. Sadly this year I was not fit enough to run the whole 5 kilometres, as I was plagued by colds for most of the training period. Still, I did manage to run some of the distance, so I'm pleased with my performance, even though it wasn't a personal best time. I am determined that next year I will be back, fully fit and going for gold!
As always, atmosphere at the race was absolutely electric. To see so many women united by the cause, and reading people's back signs... I saw one that simply said 'because I can'. It was all so very moving. Of course, seeing how many people have been affected by cancer shows just how vital this fundraising is.
Huge thanks to all my sponsors. When I set my target at £100 this year I thought I was being optimistic. I'm totally overwhelmed by the response I've had, so well done and thanks to everyone who has helped make this fantastic total. It really does make a difference.
