Over the past 10 years alone, thousands of lives have been saved through earlier detection and improved treatments. But, much work remains to be done if we are to achieve our aim of beating cancer.

I'm hoping to be able to do this and run at least half of it - there's 8 weeks to go!

I know a lot of sponsorship things come around, and we can all get a bit jaded by them, but if you could donate even a couple of pounds, it would mean a lot to me (and mean I actually have to do it!)

As a charity, Cancer Research UK rely overwhelmingly on the success of fundraising events such as Race for Life to continue our life-saving research into the prevention, treatment and cure of all forms of cancer.
