Hello again. This year I ran the Race for Life this year in memory of Kirsty, an old schoolfriend who died in 2000, and Anne Speed, my neighbour, who died last year.
Despite the bizarre weather conditions (hot with hardly any breeze, punctuated by torrential downpours) and my paranoia that I wouldn't be able to compete at all this year because of a quite interesting condition called Labyrinthitis, which meant I couldn't walk in a straight line for a couple of weeks, let alone run, I managed the Race for Life on 21st July in a slightly more leisurely-than-intended time of 34 minutes. (Claire and Helen, in the lovely photo, managed it in 30!)
My fundraising target is £200 - but more would be nice! (Ooh and if I get £200 I get a free keyring! And I am of course in it for the free keyring.)
Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent charity dedicated to cancer research. To find out more about them visit http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/ Research into cancer treatment, detection, prevention and care is hugely important and means that more and more people will survive cancer, so please please help if you can.
Anything you can give would be hugely appreciated. For the four-or-so people who read my blog, I will of course keep the Rocket Leaf fully updated
Hugs
Polly xx
PS If anyone can think of a more interesting name for this page, there's a drink in it for you.
