We are running in memory of Anne Tomlinson's first cousin 'Eileen Bowry' who passed away peacefully on the 13th March 2008 at the young age of 47.

Although Eileen had battled with cancer from a very young age - she was first diagnosed back in 1992 with Breast Cancer and after treatment including a full Mastectomy she made a full recovery - since then and for those of you that knew her, you will know that Eileen has made significant contributions to Cancer Research through taking part in fundraising events and although being a cancer sufferer herself became a qualified councillor for millions of other cancer sufferers and nursed them through their own illness and provided them with the support and care that they required during their own times of need.  Sadly, Eileen was again diagnosed with cancer in the Summer of 2007 this time, the cancer had spread to her vital organs (Bowel and Liver) and she was told that the cancer was terminal - Eileen chose not to go ahead with any form of treatment and decided to enjoy the 'quality time' she had left with her family and closest friends.

I (Anne) recall Eileen writing a message in one of her own fundraising events about her 'best buddy' "Mags" she said:- "Mags was never a cancer "sufferer" -  she lived in her own vibrant, magical, focused, determined, caring and oh so loving way alongside her cancer.  She was and continues to be my Bosom Buddy, the best and truest friend I have ever known.  That lives on forever in me. Need I say more?  So .......For Mags, For Maggie's, For Life." ......

... I believe the same for Eileen - she was never a cancer "sufferer" she lived in her own vibrant, magical, focused, determined, caring and oh so loving way alongside her cancer .......  she has now found her own peace.

i'm sure that she would be looking down from the stars and smiling knowing that her fundraising for cancer continues through family, friends and everyone that knew her and through those that know of her and the contributions she made to others throughout her short life! God Bless you Eileen.  - Please dig deep in your pockets and contribute as little or as much as you can for this very special cause.  Remember every £1 donation can help make a difference towards saving a LIFE! .... THANKYOU! ......................... Anne Tomlinson, Monika Thiem, Vicki Read, and Rachael Williams.
