Here I am with Sam just after the race. I'm pleased to say I kept up a fair pace throughout and completed the 5k course in just under one hour. Not bad under the circumstances! Yes that is a bulging belly - I'm blaming the baby for my expanding waistline, it's nothing to do with chocolate, honest!

This year I'm not aiming for a personal best but will be taking the race at a steady stroll. The reason for this is that I will be carrying another little person with me - I will be 14 weeks pregnant! I'm proud to still be joining the race, even if I do finish last, and I hope you generous people will help me raise lots of money again this year.
Like so many people, I support Cancer Research UK for personal reasons. This year I am 'racing' in memory of my beloved Gran and in celebration of my Auntie Alice: two very special and courageous ladies. From past experience of taking part in this event, the atmosphere is simply electric. It is always incredibly emotional to read everyone's 'back signs' on which they dedicate their efforts to loved ones who have fought the battle against cancer. It goes to show why events like this are so important - sadly cancer does affect us all, and it's vital that we support Cancer Research UK in its life-saving work.
