It is now over three years ago that I was diagnosed with cancer! I am still here and I strongly believe that research into cancer has played a great part of my ongoing survival.
Very sadly many of us recently lost a colleague and friend to bowelcancer. Tracy's last message to me was 'U got 2 keep fighting 4 us both now lovely lady x'. Therefore I am more determined than ever to take part in the Race for Life - I currently have fractured bones in my pelvis but I am hoping to be fit enough by the time the Race comes around.
My list of people that I am doing this for is long and very sadly is getting longer all the time:
My mother who is now thankfully in remission from breast cancer. My friend Lynn who has just undergone surgery for breast cancer and for Rosemary and Jen who are battling bowel cancer like myself. My friend Igna's mother who is fighting breast cancer as I write this; also for Susan's dad. For Amanda, Barbara, Karen and Sue's mum who are now thankfully in remission from breast cancer. For Tabz and Bec, for my aunt and for Kendra's dad, for Rob's friend and for Joschi's mum and Martina's brother - they all should still be with us. Also for Kimberley's granddad and for Cathy's brother and for the two groups of wonderful people I met at the Penny Brohn Cancer Centre - like I said my list is now sadly very long so I am very sorry if I have forgotten anyone.
