Last year I raced for life with Abigail on board at 34 weeks pregnant and finished in just over an hour. This year, we've welcomed her into the world and as she's a girl she's going to join the other girls in the family again (in a baby backpack - 5km is a little beyond her as yet)...

But while I have had a wonderful year getting to know our baby girl, two other mums I know, both my age, have been getting to know their newborn baby boys at the same time as they are fighting cancer. Plus, shortly after Abigail was born we found out that my friend's four year old son would have to undergo a 54 week chemotherapy treatment to fight for his life.

So for me the Race for Life this year is even more important...

The money that you donate to sponsor Abigail and myself to race will be used by Cancer Research UK in their vital work to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, ultimately helping more people to survive. Sponsoring us online is quick, easy and totally secure...
