Many thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.

We all had a lovely day today (Sunday 13th May) in Inverness. I would like to say that I am so, so proud of my mum for doing so fantastic today despite having a sore ankle!

Both Vicky and Liz did great aswell. They somehow think that they couldn't have done it without me, but I didn't run the race for them- give yourselves some credit girls!!!

Mums first words across the finish line today were "I want to do it again!" so I take from that comment, she enjoyed herself!

The event was done by mother and daughter, and two friends.

There's still time to add to our fundraising total, so please dig deep and sponsor us online.

We all have our own reasons for doing this years event, and here are our stories................

Shona's story- I will be taking part in the Race for Life in memory of my dad who lost his battle against malignant melanoma 10 years ago last August and for my brother-in-law who is currently fighting his own personal battle against cancer.  Please sponsor me/us!

Sheena's story- This year,  I will be running the Race for Life for my uncle and in memory of my grandfather and for all those who have been affected by this terrible disease process.  I know, from personal experience that this not only has a direct effect on people with cancer themselves, but their family and friends also. I want to help make a difference, however small it may seem. A few weeks of hard training with some sweat and possibly tears on the day, is NOTHING compared to what some folk have to endure. I will be pushing myself as hard as I possibly can and hope to finish the race in good time this year. Mother- you'll have to try and keep up!!!!!! Catch me if you can...........

Elizabeth's story- I am doing the Race for Life following a recent health scare which made me think an awful lot about cancer. The whole experience has really opened my eyes and made me realise that things could have been much, much worse. For this reason I am doing this for those who aren't so lucky.

Vicky's story- I have been really lucky and have not had anyone in my direct family diagnosed with cancer, however, if the time comes when a member of my family is affected then I want to know that I did this little thing to help them.

Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us now you could help more people survive cancer. Almost everybody knows someone, or knows of someone who has been affected by this horrible disease process.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me - Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks in advance for your support, Shona, Sheena, Elizabeth and Vicky x

This website closes on 27th May for donations although you will be able to still give donations to any of us in person after this date.
