Tam says: I am taking part in the Race For Life to raise money for Cancer Research who's work was a great help to my grandad in 2006 and last year helped my mum beat lung cancer.

Kate says: Several members of my family have also been affected by cancer. The link between defective genes and the disease is of particular importance to my family, and a huge amount of progress is being made in this area of knowledge with help from Cancer Research UK. The more cancer is understood, the more can be done to beat it.

Events like Race for Life are an important way in which Cancer Research UK is able to fund its life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us now you could help more people survive cancer.
